Camille’s Story

Amid the tumultuous backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, I stumbled upon an introductory pottery workshop that would forever change my life. The moment I touched the clay, I felt an immediate and profound connection to its therapeutic qualities.

As a dedicated and hardworking registered nurse, I was no stranger to stress and exhaustion. However, the world of ceramics provided a unique kind of therapy that I had never encountered before. It didn't take long for me to realise that this was more than a passing interest. I eagerly enrolled in extended pottery courses, spanning several years, and gradually transformed my humble shed into a small yet vibrant ceramic studio.

Ceramics became my sanctuary, a haven that offered solace and balance amid the hectic chaos of my life as a full-time nurse. I cherished the way it allowed me to escape from the demands of my profession and find respite in the creative process. The act of moulding and shaping the clay served as a beautiful counterpoint to the intensity of my work, and it became a powerful source of joy and fulfilment.

In retrospect, I am profoundly grateful for the day I discovered ceramics. This newfound passion has not only changed my life but has also allowed me to strike a harmonious balance between my nursing career and my creative outlet, proving that even amidst chaos, beauty and serenity can be found in the most unexpected places.

So, if you ever hear a faint woof echoing from the kiln room, you can bet Norman's on the job, making sure everything is fired up just right. After all, at Camille's Creations, we believe in putting the "woof" in woof-fired pottery!
